Tanjung Malim, Perak, 25 Disember, 2025 – The WomenXDesign program held from 19 to 21 December at UPSI’s Glamping and Adventure Park, empowered female students in UPSI to become innovative leaders through design thinking workshops, encouraging creative problem-solving and out-of-the-box ideas.
Organized with ties to the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, the event focused on nurturing female talent in design and innovation, aligning with UPSI's creative faculties like the Faculty of Art, Sustainability & Creative Industry (FSKIK). Participants engaged in hands-on sessions to spark entrepreneurial mindsets, fostering skills in design strategy and leadership which are vital for women breaking into male-dominated fields.
Noramira Hanisah Binti Badrool Hisham, a third year Advertising Design student from FSKIK, attended and shared her experience. "WomenXDesign opened my eyes to design thinking. It made me realize how designing is more than what it seems, not only do we have to draw but we also have to solve real problems creatively,” she said.
She also highlighted its impact on confidence: "As women, we often second-guess our ideas, but the workshops pushed us to think big and boldly." said Noramira Hanisah.
On the location of the program, she added: "Organizing this program in UPSI’s Glamping and Adventure Park made it even more enjoyable. We got to experience first hand glamping on UPSI camping grounds, and even rode some exciting rides in the Adventure Park," said Noramira Hanisah.
Organizers hailed the event's success in birthing innovative female leaders, with plans for expansions amid growing demand for women in creative industries. UPSI continues championing such initiatives to promote gender equity in education.
