Tanjong Malim, Jan 15 — UPSI Global Buddies (UGB) successfully organised a Meet & Greet with International Students at Dewan Khar, Sultan Azlan Shah Campus (KSAS) to help international students from different countries to get to know each other and encourage cross-cultural interaction on campus.
On the 13th of January 2026, a meet and greet with the international students of Sultan Idris Education University(UPSI)is held at Dewan Khar (Khar Hall). The programme lasted for a duration of two and a half hours, from 8pm to 10:30pm. It was an opportunity for the transnational cohort of UPSI students to unite and network. International students from countries such as China, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Bangladesh were involved in this programme.
The session opened with a welcoming speech from Professor Dr. Ramlee bin Ismail, Director International Mobility and Advanced Education Centre (IMAC), followed by a communal dining between the professors, organisers and the international students. The event continued with a plethora of performances by the international students, showcasing their diverse cultures backgrounds. It was an opportune event to for international students to engage in cross-cultural dialogue with IMAC and the local students from UGB.
A committee member stated that the programme was organised to help international students familiarize themselves with UGB members, and formally meet officers from the International, Mobility, and Advanced Education Centre (IMAC).
“To me, this programme is organized to allow international students build connections among themselves and to establish closer relationship with UGB members and IMAC officers”, the committee member said.
In order to encourage overseas students to participate in upcoming programs, an award presentation segment was also held. International students who showed a high level of commitment and dedication were recognized with the Best Commitment Award, which was given to a male and a female student.
In addition, to strengthen links between international students, this meet and greet programme demonstrated UPSI's dedication in creating a welcoming and encouraging campus community through worthwhile engagement initiatives.
